Somerlap began their energy journey by closely monitoring site-wide demand to reduce energy usage and carbon output. Building on these insights, they invested in Solar PV and battery storage systems. This enabled Gridimp’s intelligent energy controller—the impHub—to take full control, unlocking advanced capabilities like solar soaking, tariff arbitrage, and grid flexibility revenue.
Next came the electrification of transport across the site, including electric forklifts and EV charging infrastructure. Our smart EV charging solution ensures the fleet charges at the most cost-effective times, using low-tariff imported energy and excess solar power.
With the implementation of a cutting-edge, behind-the-meter smart microgrid, Somerlap has transitioned from a passive energy consumer to an active energy manager.
