By integrating these solutions with existing systems like the water-source heat pump, optimally sizing new solar generation and integrating with electrical storage heating systems. the Palace now benefits from real-time energy monitoring, reduced waste and making energy usage smarter and more efficient.

The installation of Gridimp’s technology transformed energy management with real-time monitoring and intelligent automation, cutting costs by optimizing usage of their own zer carbon generation and avoidance of peak price and carbon consumption. The key control challenge was having an easily retrofitted intelligent heating control solution within this significant historic medieval building containing many precious artifacts including artwork and the Bishop of Bath and Wells Coronation Cope. Now the Palace is automatically considering forecast OAT (outside air temperature) and energy tariff variables and long with energy flexibility market price signals combined with internal temperature and moisture monitoring data to dynamically optimise its heating energy use.
